Hello all! I'm Holly, a 21 year old college student studying Anthropology, Art, and French at Humboldt State University. I appreciate you taking the time to check out what I'm up to and where I'm going on this crazy journey called LIFE! I hope you enjoy what I have to say, whether you're a diehard fan of mine, or just randomly reading my blog! Well thanks for stopping by and as always, have a fabulous day!

Infrequent Inspiration

Preface:

There are 3 things to know for this post:

1. My favorite band: KEANE

2. My Fall 2010 band of choice: Mumford and Sons

3. My Spring 2011 band of choice: Frightened Rabbit.

Explanations:

1. Well as many of my friends and acquaintances probably know, my favorite band ever is Keane. They are so incredibly awesome and I could go on and on, but I'll spare you all and put my Keane rant on hold for the time being. The only reason I mentioned them here and in the preface was to ensure everyone that they have not been replaced by any means.

2. This past fall semester, I began and completed my official 3rd semester of college at HSU and whilst I was studying, adventure-ing, and such I discovered (or rather saw on vh1) Mumford and Sons. I must admit, I have a knack for UK bands, and M&S are no exception. Everything about them is so different and fresh compared to the electrona sounds of today's popular music. I love their folk-rock sound and how meaningful the lyrics are. They are such a neat band and I hope to hear and see much more of them in the future.

3. Currently I am in the midst of my 4th semester here at HSU and I have found my Spring 2011 band of interest, Frightened Rabbit. FR has been around for a while, but are relatively new to me. I found them when I searched for "bands like Mumford and Sons" on Google. To my excitement, I found FR and immediatly fell in love with their single "Swim Until You Can't See Land." I think one of my favorite aspects of FR is that you can distinctly hear the lead singers thick Scottish accent in all the songs. Like I said, I only have started listening to them very recently, but I can tell that they will provide the soundtrack to my semester.

Epilogue:

This was just a little insight to my music tastes of the '10-'11 school year. I hope you all weren't too bored :)

Happy Listening!
