So in my last blog post, I said I would sometime go into detail my crazzzy schedule, however today, as I was jogging, I thought of an idea for a 2 week series. To preface this, I will tell you that, beginning on Jan 18, I began a pretty crazy work out regimen of going to the gym 2 times a day and yoga 2 days a week. Well, I must say I have surprisingly been pretty consistent with my plan, but I have changed it around here and there. About a month ago, me and one of my roommates, Sarah, began going to the track here at HSU on Saturday nights while our friends played Ultimate Frisbee and "running the straights and walking the curves." I have always comically claimed that I "don't know how to run" because, like most people, middle and high school PE was torture for me. I am by no means a small person and in the last 6 months, have been trying to improve my life and heath by working out more. After that first Saturday night, I was a bit hooked on this jogging thing I had for so long avoided and shunned. I had gone back to the track a few times after that, hoping to build myself up to a consistent jog of maybe 2 laps at a time, thinking it would be maybe until summer; however, last tuesday I accomplished my goal of two laps nonstop and then on thursday I surprised myself by jogging a whole mile! I'm not going to lie, I was pretty excited, but then I looked at my time, and it was about 16 minutes! That is ridiculously slow, so a new goal came into mind, to improve my mile. So last night, I did it in 14 minutes! And today, as I was jogging, I decided I'm going to for the next 2 weeks, time myself with a stopwatch and record the times to see how much I can improve and average out over a two week period before my spring break.
I shall be back every few days for an update (:
