I was talking with a friend the other day and I realized something. I was telling him about a bit of advice my dad gave me in early high school (gosh, like 6 years ago!) and I noticed I had kept this advice and tried to live by it ever since. During high school, everyone was so excited to finish it and get on with life, but when I told my dad this he gave me another way to look at it... He told me to appreciate high school, and then college while I can. These years of adolescence and young adulthood, are those which never come back to us. A time with little responsibility (other than getting good grades and being happy), a time where the opportunities for the future seem endless, and a time to shape who you are and who you will become. I think that so many people take for granted these years, myself included, we all must take a step back and re-evaluate what's going on in our lives.
Not to get all deep or anything, but I do think its important to live life in the NOW, and to appreciate all we have.
